Guidelines for Classes
The following points are a few simple guidelines that will be helpful for you to know before attending class. This will assist you to get the most out of your classes and feel as comfortable as possible in your yoga practice. We wish you well.
- Practice on an empty stomach. It is recommended that you do not eat for at least 2-3 hours before practice. If you feel the need to eat then tend toward easily digested foods such as fruit or yoghurt.
- Arrive at least 20 minutes before your first class in order to register. The door is always open 30 minutes before class so students can come early to relax or practice, and it is recommended that you try to arrive as early as possible for classes and take advantage of this opportunity. Classes will begin promptly and, as it is disruptive and considered disrespectful to your teacher and fellow students to be late, the door will be locked a few minutes prior to the start of class time.
- Clothing should be light and allow for a full range of movement. Women usually wear tights, light track pants or shorts and T shirts, men usually wear shorts and T shirts or singlets.
- Avoid drinking water during class. Drink plenty of water during the day and after class.
- Cell phones must be turned off before entering the school.
