Weekend Workshop

&

5-Day Intensive

with

Graeme & Leonie Northfield

Graeme and Leonie Northfield first taught a workshop here at Yoga Tapas in 2005, an experience that I know many students enjoyed and found very rewarding.  Since then, Graham and I have been enormously privileged to be able to attend many further retreats with Graeme and Leonie and continue to benefit from their teaching.  On a personal level, I have first-hand experience of the tremendous wisdom, kindness and compassion with which they have led me through a long-term injury and set me on the road to recovery.  On a broader level, I have been able to observe Graeme and Leonie's absolute commitment to teaching students to practise in a way which is both safe and enduring, a commitment which has very much influenced our own teaching style.

Graeme has been practicing Astanga consistently for 27 years and continues with passion and enthusiasm. He maintains an insightful and investigative approach to practice and teaching and is always excited to share his depth of experience with others. Graeme is particularly interested in Astanga as a healing modality. During the past several years, he has been researching the latest information on fitness and health from the western science perspective and integrating this knowledge into the Astanga system.

Leonie maintains a deep commitment to Astanga Yoga and has been practicing for over 21 years. The past 12 years she has been assisting and teaching beside Graeme. "For me, yoga is evolution. The constant is change. The processes of letting go, restructuring, adaptation and development are ongoing. This is great news as it gives the possibility to continuously redefine belief systems and the way we perceive ourselves and each other." Teaching is Leonie's way to share the things she has learned from her own practice, experience and observations.

We are delighted to offer students the opportunity to experience first hand the teaching that Graeme and Leonie have to offer. We will be offering a Weekend Workshop (2x sessions each day) and a 5-Day Intensive (Monday to Friday morning practice).
